BQ40Z50-R2: CHG and DSG fet auto enable

Hi Andy

At the end of learning cycle, Status Update is changed to 6.

FET_EN is always setted.

Now I want to running another charge-relax-discharge-relax cycle (to bring Satus Update to 0x0E value).

I have connected a fully working BQ25883 as charger.

But at this point battery charge cycle doesn't start because CHG fet is in off state.

To force the turn on of CHG I need to clear FET_EN and set CHG_FET_TOGGLE. Only in this way it can start charge step.

Why do I need to force manually CHG fet to achieve charge step?

Hi Fabio,

I would suggest you check the PCHG FET.  The gauge can enter the PRECHAGE mode under some conditions.

See Section 4.9 for the details.

As you can see by attached pictures, now I have ended learning cycle.

Before I create the golden file, do I need to set/clear any register?

I have noted that Remaining Capacity is 0 and Full Charge Capacity is 0 too. Is there somthing wrong or it's ok?

Did you see the LStatus change to 06 or 0E?  

Also, I would suggest you run the learning cycle again to check the RSOC accuracy.

I have runned learnig cycle again but Full charge Capacity and Absolute State of Charge values are always zero (see picture below).

What can I try now to solve it?
