Recommendation for Ultra Wide Input range power supply

Hello,

I'm looking for some recommendations or reference design for an ultra wide input range (100-600VAC) . I need 48V/200 mA so I was looking into a cap dropper approach. I checked slva491 reference design, which gives some insight. My question is if that approach would still be valid for this wide input range or I would need to go for a SMPS, which will be more expensive.

Thanks.
