Is it possible to program the BQ79606A-Q1 using the Tiva TM4C123GH6PM on the Code Composer Studio with TivaWare. I have looked at the example code using the Hercules microcontroller, but it uses an API different than TivaWare so a lot of the functions are different.

I am sure you can port the code to work with the TM4C mcu but we only provide reference code using the TMS570 for use with the bq79606a. I rerouted this post to the CCS support staff, and they may be able to help you with more details on the porting process.

I would recommend you study our DriverLib User Guide to compare API's used: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spmu298d/spmu298d.pdf

It's definitely possible to use TM4C for this, but we don't have any application code that works with BQ devices. So you'd have to look at the API's for Hercules and see how you can translate them to TivaWare API's.

We also have a number of example projects that show to use peripherals at a basic level which may be helpful.
