BQ24600: Battery Detection out of charge temperature range

Part Number: BQ24600

Hi Team,

I want to check operation of BQ24600 regarding to Battery Detection out of charge temperature range set by TS resistor network.

"Figure 10. Operational Flowchart for bq24600" has the Initiate battery detection algorithm. And "Figure 8. Battery Detection Flowchart" shows battery-absent detection operation.
 - Dose the above battery detection function operate under the battery pack temperature is out of charge temperature range set by the TS resistor network?

 - If the battery detection function of the BQ24600 operates out of charge temperature range, are there any ways to disable the battery detection function operation of the BQ24600 under only out of charge temperature range?
Thank you.

Best Regards,

Koshi Ninomiya

  • Hi Ninomiya-san,

Battery detection is disabled when TS out-of-range temperature is detected. TS fault is detected as VTS>VLTF, or VTS<VTCO or VTS<VHTF for deglitch timer of 400ms. In event of a TS fault, battery absent detection will not be performed until TS fault is cleared (temperature is measured in the valid range)
