Hello ,
What is the VI-VO min voltage that must be applied to the TL783 for it to function properly?
Where is the info in the data sheet?
Regards
Hi,
Please see Figure 10 for the dropout at different loads and temperatures. Depending on your loads, your Vi-Vo needs to be higher than the dropout values.

Jason Song
Hi Druilhe,
The VI-VO min voltage is basically the dropout voltage, and is dependant on the load current and temperature.
Figures 1 and 2 give various values for this depending on the load current and temperature.
Figure 10 gives you the dropout voltage vs temperature.
Thanks,
- Stephen
Hi Druihe,
I saw you rejected the answer. Please let me know if you have any concerns or there is a way for us to address your question differently.

HI Jason Song
I did not receive a return following my last questions. Thanks for your help
Hi Druilhe,
The simulation model may have incorrect information that requires Vin - Vo > 20V for the part to operate. If your load current is less, you could have lower Vin-Vo, but in order for the part to stay in regulation, this Vo-Vi needs to be higher than the dropout.

Jason Song
Hi Druilhe,
I don't think the requirement for the 20V minimum Vin for this device is true. I am ordering some samples and I will take a look on the bench. Please allow 3 business days for the parts to arrive in our lab.
I will get back to you by Thursday.

Jason Song
Hi Druilhe,
If your load current is less, you could have lower Vin-Vo, but in order for the part to stay in regulation, this Vo-Vi needs to be higher than the dropout. Please refer to the datasheet for the actual Vi-Vo requirement, see 7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions.

You do not answer the question what is the minimum voltage at the input of the regulator before "stalling". See below
7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions you don't give the VI-VO Min
In this document Vin_min 20V it 's correct ???

YD
Hi YD,
Sorry that I cannot see the pictures, VI-VO does not have to be higher than 20V. For the 7.3 in the datasheet, it does not specify the min of VI-VO. Will you upload your 2nd picture or point me the chapter number?
Regards,
Jason Song
Hi Jason Song
Vin (Min) 20V
I repeat my question
what is the minimum voltage at the input of the regulator before "stalling". See below
Hi Druilhe,
I would say Vin min on our spec table in the LDO search page is wrong. Vin could be lower than 20V based on the current load, Vin needs to be higher than Vout + Vdorpout.
