UCC2808-1: High Power DC/DC regulator design help

Part Number: UCC2808-1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5045, LM5046, UCC29002

I would like to use the UCC2808-1 push pull design as described in this webbench power design: webench.ti.com/appinfo/webench/scripts/SDP.cgi?ID=05EB8E641095661F

I'm having trouble picking out an appropriate transformer.  Can someone help me design a high power (1kw) DC/DC buck circuit?  I need resources and assistance, please.  Is there a design available that I can reference?

  • Hi James,

For this spec, I'd like to recommend you use full bridge topology, such as device LM5045, LM5046.

If you prefer to use a buck converter, here are reference designs for your reference, you can find them on TI.com.

    Regards,

    Teng

  • I don't see a solution here for 36V output at 1kW (900W typical).  I would consider using bucks in parallel if I can get the appropriate power and there are application notes for how to wire them in parallel appropriately to share the load.

  • Hi James,

Sorry, there is no available reference design with your requested specs, but I think you can still refer these reference designs.

Besides, load share controller UCC29002 (UCC29002-1, UCC29002-2) is recommended to parallel multiple independent power supplies.

    Regards,

    Teng
