UCC28740: Charging capacitor bank with flyback converter.

Part Number: UCC28740

I'd like to use UCC28740 to control an output voltage of 225V with an input of 108V DC (rectified from an AC power supply.) I am charging a three-capacitor bank and would like to not just dump current into them and would like to slowly ramp the current being supplied. Is this possible, if so, would I use the feedback input for this? Thanks.

  • No, there is no such feature directly from UCC28740. You need to design your own circuit to control your current ramp. If you want to regulate the output current, a possible way is to modify the current sensing resistor value which can set up different constant current so to achieve your current need.

FB does not have current regulation function.
