Vibration spec for PTH08T240WAD

I have the flowing vibration requirement for a board with a PTH08T240WAD on it.

4 to 15 Hz at a 1.52 mm (0.06 in) double amplitude level

16 to 25 Hz at a 1.02 mm (0.04 in) double amplitude level

The data sheet shows the maximum vibration rating for the part as 15G at 20-2000Hz.

Can I assume the part will pass vibration testing because the requirement is lower frequency or is there more to it than that?

  • The vibration qualification report is attached. The  vibration was completed with the PTH08T240WAD/WAH soldered  into a securely mounted PWB onto a rigit  fixture. The vibration data and test is listed the attachment.

A major concern when completing a vibration or shock tests is the stability of the size of the motherboard assembly. It has a distinctive internal resonance at any vibration levels.  This internal resonance may  exceed the published maximum vibration limits  with some possible damage to the components on the host board assembly.
