BQ25713: reset I2C registers

Our customer ask events of reset I2C registers, even though we know accessing RESET_REG and RESET_VINDPM enables all of the registers are reset. Could you let us know other events to reset whole I2C registers e.g. VBUS_OVLO & VBAT_UVLOZ.

Hey Toshiro,

The RESET_VINDPM does not all of the registers. It will likely reset the ChargeCurrent() register and MaxChargeVoltage() register, but it will also reset the InputVoltage() register. Only the RESET_REG bit will reset all registers to their default states.

Also, as you mention, a POR event when both VBUS and VBAT go below their UVLO thresholds will cause a register reset.

Thank you for your answer. Do I understand RESET_REG reset all of the I2C registers except for VINDPM described in the datasheet, and reset all of the registers by POR event which is VBAT< VVBAT_UVLO & VBUS<VVBUS_UVLO when those voltages are going down.

Hey Toshiro,

That is correct. VINDPM is not reset by the RESET_REG bit. You will need to enable the RESET_VINDPM bit to reset the InputVotlage() register.
