BQ40Z50-R1: Questions regarding a calibration process

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQPRODUCTION, BQSTUDIO, BQ40Z50EVM-561, BQ40Z50

Hi expert,

My customer is calibrating BQ40Z50-R1 with below setup:

BQPRODUCTION + HPA169B + EV2300

They meet error "Failed:No acknowledge from device" in this process and may need your advice on this.

After the board (DUT) is connected to HPA169B, BQPRODUCTION can detect calibration board, and "flash LEDES" works well. But, when we clicked "Start Test" button, test failed with message:"772:No acknowledge from device".

Our board is ok with EV2300 and Bqstudio. Could we use combination BQPRODUCTION + EV2300 and HPA169B for BQ40z50R1's calibration?

BTW, We found the value (cells, batt, pack ) measured from HPA169B seems a bit smaller than normal.

How can we get the correct value? And, What does current mean?

Is there an instruction or user guide about "BQPRODUCTION" software?

How to use the "BQPRODUCTION" is our product and benefit production? (any guide on this?)

Thanks

Sheldon

  • bqProduction Software help for bqProduction is available under the Help menu

HPA169B hardware setup information is contained in the document

The incorrect voltage value is probably because of an incorrect jumper setting or incorrect connection. Please see the product page for more details

  • The gauge NACKs when it has no power supply or when supply voltage is below operating voltage.

There are more scenarios where the gauge NACKs but those likely do not apply in this case.

  • Hi Shirish,

We have checked our test environment again. What we can confirm is our test environment the same as BQ40Z50EVM-561.The only difference is on cells, our setup has 3 cells. The cell voltage here (Measured from both cell 1- and cell 1+)is still smaller than normal and test failed again with message:"Failed:No acknowledge from device".

The Jumpers on HPA169B are setup for 3 cells.(J5 and J7)

Could you give us further advices on how to debug this?

    Thanks

    Sheldon

  • Hi Sheldon,

I see that you are using the old board HPA169.

It was replaced with a new one HPA495

I believe that the HPA169 is not compatible with bq40z50 for calibration. However i do not think the voltage on HPA169 should be off by that much. I will try to find an HPA169 and see if it can be reproduced.
