LM3481: FB Leakage Current

Part Number: LM3481

Hi there,

Im inquiring as to whether there is characterization around the FB pin leakage current?

We have a battery powered application that uses the LM3481 as a boost converter, and when not boosting, power will passthrough the inductor. As such, I want to maximize the values of the feedback network to minimize wasted power. Can you comment on how large I can make these resistors, and what affect it will have on output stability?

Thanks,

Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the interest in LM3481.

The bias current of FB pin is around 120nA. We recommend using a bottom feedback resistor smaller than 100kOhm.

This is not only due to the bias current effect, but also noises. A large resistance reflects more noises on the FB and reduce the regulation accuracy.
