TPS7B7702-Q1: For current limit setting which exceeds 300mA

Hi team,

 

Can you confirm if TPS7B770x-Q1 can be used for the following use case?

 

The datasheet specifies current spec 300mA but the internal current limit is min. 340mA. So, is it possible to set the current limit to 325mA?

 

Rsense : 2kohm (1kohm + 1kohm, divided for 1.8V ADC input)

Rlimit    : 750ohm

 

-. Operating range : 20~300mA

-. Current limit   : 325mA

-. Open detection : < 15mA (< 0.06V at ADC input)

-. Short detection : > 307mA (> 1.65V at ADC input)

    Hi Sam, 

    Technically you could have the current limit set to a value slightly higher than 300mA, and I don't see a reason for it not to work. But the datasheet has defined the output current between 0mA to 300mA and we would not recommend using the device outside of the datasheet specification.
