UCC39002: LS pin SPIKE

Part Number: UCC39002

Hi Team,

use UCC39002 to find a voltage surge detected on the LS pin, no damage has occurred in current test, please kindly help confirm if LS pin can withstand such voltage.

what is the miximum voltage and current that LS pin can withstand? the chart below?

  • Hello Tommy,

LS is a DC signal and there should be no spike on it.

If there is a spike it is because of a poor layout or some other circuit design issue.
At the very minimum this will cause poor current sharing or destruction of the UCC39002.
The solution to the problem is to eliminate the spike by understanding why this is happening and make all  necessary corrections.

The absolute maximum rating for LS is the value of VDD.
This is a DC rating and the UCC39002 does not have a characterised value of surge rating for LS.

For reliable circuit operation this spike should be eliminated.

    Regards

    John
