UCD90120 Configuration Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD90120, UCD9090, UCD90160, UCD90124A, UCD90120A

Using the UCD90120, I would like to configure the rails to use the internal temperature sensor on the device to shut down the individual rails due to an overtemp fault.  It looks like this is the defualt, but I wanted to confirm.

Also the GPO configuration seems backwards,  I’d like to configure an active low ‘FAIL’ signal with multiple failure sources i.e. over temp, NOT power good on 7 rails, over current on 3 rails, and a GPI FAULT input, that’s 12 sources.  The fusion SW’s configuration only allows for 4 FAIL sources so I'm a little confused on how to get this done.   Also, the AND & OR gates need to changed.

Can you please provide a recommendation on how to set this up in the GUI?

  • If there is no MON pin assigned as an analog temperature input for a rail, that rail will use the internal IC TEMP for the temperature stimulus. Set the OT FAULT and OT WARN as required.

Future devices to be released (UCD90160, UCD90120A, UCD90124A, UCD9090) will have enhanced logic controlled GPO capability over the existing devices. Refer to the UCD90160 datasheet (online starting pg 19) for an explanation. You can also experiment by using the Fusion software (download latest version from UCD90120 product page) in offline mode using UCD90160 for the device.
