LM3488: SEPIC Converter

Part Number: LM3488
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5155

I am using a car battery(12v) as input for LM3488. As you know the battery is discharged after some time, so the voltage of the battery is decreased. To get constant 12v output what I can use Battery charging circuit or SEPIC to boost the discharged battery voltage?

  • Hi Vanaraj,

Thank you for considering the LM3488.  If you want a regulated 12V with the varying battery voltage, you should consider the SEPIC.  If you just want to keep the voltage not be lower than 12V, you can just use a boost.

In addition to the LM3488, you may also consider the LM5155 which is our latest boost controller and it covers most of LM3488's application cases.

    Thanks,
