EV2400: Bought a new EV2400 tool and it is not being detected by windows

HI

     I just recieved a EV2400 from TI website. Upon connecting to pc ( Win 10 ) via USB cable only, it is not detected by windows and neither is any front LED's on. I checked on my laptop as well and it is same situation.

Pls help.

    1. Please verify that the USB port is supplying power - 100mA  max(low power mode on PC should be off)

    2. Try rebooting Windows (this may not help because you report the same on 2 different PCs)

    3. If none of the above help, see if the EV2400 updater can detect it and update the firmware

    If none of the above help, then the unit you received is probably defective.

  • I did the following troubleshooting with no luck getting the EV2400 to work.

    1.  USB port...power is good...tried multiple devices with same cable, even tried different ports and cables....

    2.  Rebooting does not help either.

    3. Updater app does not detect the board and neither is any front LED ON.

    No activity in device manager when plugged to pc. I beleive the unit I recieved is defective. Kindly suggest alternative or replacement .

  • We don't deal with customer returns directly. If your EV2400 was purchased via TI eStore, I would suggest you contact the customer support team.

  • Yes...I have contacted the customer service and they have suggested to post the problem here in forums. I think I may have recieved the bad EV2400 and needs replacement. 

    It is confusing as to why customer service needs to redirect here but I thought maybe someone needs to give approval here.

  • I guess the customer service probably thought your EV2400 was good.  I would suggest you contact them again.  I don't think you need any approval from us.
