TLC59116: Breathing and blinking effect clarification?

Part Number: TLC59116

Team,

I wanted to clarify a few questions in regards to the TLC59116  IC:

  • This part can be programmed to perform the blinking feature as long as the blink frequency is between 24 Hz and 10.73 seconds
  • If utilizing the LED all call feature to program all drivers at once does the register auto increment feature still work?
  • If a device is programmed to acknowledge the LED all call address will it still acknowledge it’s individual i2c address, or must the all call be disabled?

  • Hi Julio,

         1. Yes, the register auto-increment feature will still work if you have enabled it;

         2.  I don't very understand what's the meaning of "acknowledge the LED all call address will it still acknowledge it’s individual i2c address", could you explain detailly about this mode? thanks.

    BR

    Sean

  • Hi Julio,

    1. For group blinking, Yes. Also please pay attention to the accuracy is 8bit.

    2. Already answered by sean.

    3. All call and individual call can be enabled at the same time. However, the all call is enabled by default. And  individual call should be enabled by yourself. Please refer to Tab.4.
