LM2592HV: Support to check for a new IC with the desired input and output range.

Good afternoon all,

I am writing this query to know mainly about following things:

1. The step down DC DC converter LM2592HV having the I/P range 4.5 to 60V and two fixed and adjustable O/P versions. I just wanted to know, whether in the datasheet Adjustable O/P versions means can we have the O/P values ranging from 0 to 24V dynamically? .Our requirement is such, we want 0 to 24 voltage which is one time programmable , and works according to the PWM signal given as the input.

2. Telling the same, can you please let me know if there is a IC (step down DC DC converter) which has input range 24 to 60V and can take PWM signal as input. And the output voltage having the range 0 to 24V which is dynamically programmable and varies according to the input PWM signal and should give the output current max 2A.

Please do help me in finding one IC.

Hi,

For LM2592HV, the adjustable output means you need to use a resistor divider circuit to set output voltage. If you want to have a programmable output, it's recommended to use an external low-noise digital-to-analog converter on feedback divider, to control the output. If you want to just use a PWM signal to get a low noise DC voltage, you need to design a good filter circuit to turn the duty cycle of the PWM signal to a programmable DC voltage, then to control the output.

After connecting the DAC to the feedback pin, can I simulate the same (the DAC output and the LM2592HV output)? If yes please guide me how.

If you mean simulating the circuit in simulation software, I can suggest you use PSpice to simulate it, you can download the LM2592HV model from the below link and build your circuit:
