BQ40Z50-R2: VIMR

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2

Hi TI expert!

I'm using BQ40Z50-R2 in my battery pack. And I am confused about VIMR:Duration.  How to understand VIMR:Duration

My setting about VIMR is show as follows. And I have tested the VIMR function.

I provide power for my circuit board by power supply. Each cell voltage set 4000mV. And then I decrease cell1 voltage to 3495mV. After approximate 6.6s delay VIMR triggered and CHG MOS & DSG MOS both are turned off. VIMR can be triggered properly and the delay time is ok. But I couldn't find VIMR:Duration work.  And I have seen that VIMA does not have Duration value. Could you kindly tell me how to understand VIMR:Duration?

(Yellow: Cell1 voltage ; Blue: C-MOS Vg voltage ; Purple: D-MOS Vg voltage ; oscilloscope reference GND is B-)

Here is the explaining about VIMR extracted from BQ40Z50-R2 TRM. Could you kindly tell me how to understand VIMR:Duration

Thank you!

  • Hi,

The VIMR:Duration refers to a period needed for the battery current to stay lower than VIMR:Check Current before the gauge to check whether the delta voltages between the cells in series are within VIMR:Delta Threshold
