LP87524J-Q1: Measuring current on each rail

Part Number: LP87524J-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443BOOST

Hey Champs,

We are interested in measuring current on each Buck0 - Buck3 rail. Is it possible to do this via I2C read/write? What else can be measured via I2C?

I am using the PMIC on an IWR1443BOOST board.

Cheers,

Akash

  • Hi Akash,

Section 7.3.1.3 on page 16 of the LP8752J datasheet details the current measuring abilities of this device. My understanding is that one buck can be monitored at a time and you can read the measured current through I2C. I have forwarded this thread to the expert for this device for any further questions you may have.

    Best regards,

    Layne J

  • Hi Akash,

Yes, load current of each BUCK can be read through I2C. One BUCK at the time.

There is no other "measurement" type of information via I2C but there are many status bits inside device revealing device operation.
