BQ2057W: BQ2057W

Part Number: BQ2057W
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2057,

Hi sir,

AS we tested and working with BQ2057 , as input 9.2V and VCC is 8.7V. While charging with dual cell li-ion cell 2600mAh battery .

Its working fine, but some cases batteries are bulging due to temperature.

As we are testing reading the thermister values ,the unit we have inner side shows some temperature and Charger IC TS pin will give some other value ...so what temperature we could log and how to take care of battery bulging issues.

Thanking you

Compare the battery manufactures charging recommendation with the charger design.

Key things to look at are the charging temp range, typically 0C to 60C but check the battery you are using.

Charging current see battery manufactures recommendations.  This is typically 0.5C to 1C, for 2600mAh would be 1300mA to 2600mA.

Charging voltage, the BQ2057W is 8.4V, you may require a lower voltage.

Battery should have a protection circuit to prevent overvoltage, overcurrent charge/discharge.

The BQBQ2057W has a TS pin input to support battery temperature monitoring during charging, see "battery temperature monitoring" section of data sheet.
