BQ40Z50EVM-561: In combination with IMAX B6 charger

Hi,

I was wondering if I could use this particular charger in combination with the bq40z50. Someone on the internet told me this could not be possible, because of the internal cell balancing on the charger AND on the gauge. When going through the learning cycle, does the bq40z50-evm automatically take care of the charging curve after I calibrated the pack? Or do I need to adjust the settings on the IMAX B6 charger while going through the learning cycle?

I have a 4S4P configuration 14000mA.

Sorry if I'm a bit unclear, first time trying to put a BMS together..

    I am not an expert on the IMAX B6 charger. Quite a few customers fail in the learning cycle due to their tools.  For the learning cycle, I would suggest you use lab a bench power supply and electrical DC load for the learning cycle.  After the learning is complete successfully, you can then test whether the IMAX B6 charger can work with bq40z50.  BQ40z50 takes care of the cell-balancing by self.
