WEBENCH® Tools/UCC23513: High temperature DC/DC converter :

Part Number: UCC23513
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54140A

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

We have six ucc23513 in our circuit with input voltage of 36V+/- 6V

What converter will provide us fewest components in order we might operate at temperatures of 100'C and beyond?

  • Hello Victor,

Do you mean you will be supplying UCC23513 with a total rail-to-rail supply of 42V? This is outside of the absolute maximum ratings of the device. The recommended voltage for VCC-VEE is 33V.

    Regards,

    Audrey

  • Thanks Audrey,

The Vcc-Vee supply is 24V, but we need a supply for device not on 'Hot' side mosfet driver requires a supply of +/-8.5V DC.

This supply is one set of batteries higher potential. So on the mosfet output we have 0-24V-'hot'., On the other side we have up to 36V, we need to regulate this to =8.5V and -8.5V for the driver.

    Cheers

    Victor

  • We are seeking a part similar to LT8471H?

  • Hi Victor,

So you are trying to generate a +/-8.5V for the gate driver using isolated supply with 36V input, is that correct?

There are a variety of bias supply options available from TI. Please take a look at the reference design for UCC23513 using a supply based on TPS54140A. Also, this reference  gives a good comparison of three supply options where each option can accept a wide input range from 4.5V to 42V, which should fit your input requirement.

I hope these references will be sufficient to guide your choice for now. If you have questions relating to those documents or parts, please post again!

    Regards,

    Audrey
