On page 19 of the LM1085 data sheet the bridge arrangement will cause damage itself and to everything up stream of it.

Please take note of the polarities of the rectifiers in Fig 25.

Obviously the diodes are drawn incorrectly.
I have made an update in our datasheet correction log, and this will be corrected during the next revision of the datasheet.
