TPS53626: What is the difference between TPS53627 and TPS53626 chips?

Part Number: TPS53626
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53627, TPS53667, TPS53679, TPS53661

One of our customers chose TI power supply for the design.

Client proposal: Intel CPU is currently used for the product, and VR13.0 is required. Please refer to the TPS53627 and TPS53626 recommended by the design.

Excuse me:

A. what's the difference between these two materials?

B. We are currently using TPS53667, which is vr12.5, is it compatible with VR13.0 standard?

Looking forward to your reply!Thank you!

  • Hello,

Both devices are made for VR13.0. The difference is the DAC step size / range.

    TPS53626: Intel VR13 5mV DAC

    TPS53627: Intel VR13 10mV DAC

TPS53667 does not support SVID. For the core rail, our recommended VR12.5 device would be TPS53661, and our recommended V13.0 TPS53679. You can email vr [at] list [dot] ti [dot] com for more info to request a datasheet as these devices are protected by Intel CNDA.

  • The Intel CPU we chose is SnowRidge.

The CPU manual recommends TPS53626 and TPS53627. Could you recommend cost-effective power solutions, including MOS chip, and provide relevant power design materials?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi,

You can use CSD95372A pairing with TPS53626/27, and for reference design material you can refer to intel customer reference board schematic.

    Thanks

    Chasel.
