Hello all,
Recently, I've tried to design the BMS for 5S-6S LTO cells, whose voltage range is 1.5V-2.8V, 2.3V nominal. Here are some requirements.
1) Cell operating voltage is 1.8V-2.8V
2) The voltage/current of pack including each cells' voltage, needs to be monitored. Precise fuel gauging is not necessary.
3) OVP for 3.0V, UVP for1.5V. OT and UT also required.
4) few Amps of active cell balancing, if it is not possible, passive balancing.
Like fuel gauge+balancer ICs, balancer ICs for Supercaps, so many possible designs I've struggled with, but still not sure what can support LTO BMS with balancing.
So fuel gauges like bq40z80, bq40z50-R1 or bq4050 with external FETs will fit on my purpose? or, Do I need a battery monitor/balancer IC like bq79606 (+EMB1428/EMB1499 for active balancing)?
Thanks
Hello Sungwoo,
Are you able send us a cell spec sheet?
Can you run this cell on GPCCHEM to see what type of chemistry you will get?
Hello Sungwoo,
Can we take discussion offline. I will send you a friend request. Can you send cells to TI?
I need to discuss this first with coworkers. I accept your friendship request, and I'll send you a message as soon as how to deal with the cell and its data is decided.
Thanks!
