TPS3705: Max TPS3705 WDI CLK Frequency

Part Number: TPS3705

Hi Team,

The datasheet has specifies that minimum pulse width at WDI pin is 100nS. The customer wants to use 25MHz CLK to feed watchdog. They have two questions below. Could you please help give your comments? Thanks!

  • 25MHz CLK to WDI will have only 20nS, is it ok to use for feeding dog?
  • What is meaning of tw 100nS?
  • How to know if my CLK meets requirements?

  • Hi Wenhao,

This requirement is in reference to the minimum width of each pulse. The device has in built glitch immunity that requires a minimum pulse width so it can ignore random glitches and transients <100 ns. This means that if your CLK cannot provide wider pulses, they won't be detected.

    Thanks,
    Abhinav.
