LP5569: Dual LP5569 Configuration to run with Other MCU Models....

Part Number: LP5569

As shown in attached views, l am preparing a design such like it, but l am curious about it can work with any type of CPU (such as Mediatek MT7620 or Other CPU Models).

Can you give your best comment for being sure its application as l mentioned and shown above?

  • Hi Mustafa,

LP5569 uses standard I2C interface. I think if your CPU could generate I2C command, it should be OK to work.

Your schematic is OK. One thing is that if the change pump is not used, capacitors between C1 and C2 are also can be omitted.

  • Hi Mustafa,

    1) I saw that you did not connect 22 pin so I thought you did not use the charge pump function, which was designed for battery supply system and can supply enough VLED to green and blue LEDs. Capacitors between C1-/+ and C2-/+ are external part of charge pump circuit. Since your system are using 3.3V power line, these two capacitor is not necessary and you can omit them to save some cost and space. But it is also OK to have them, in case you have other usage for charge pump.

    2) Sorry I do not get your question.

    3) GPIO/TRIG/INT pin is designed for engine function. If you do not use it or you do not have animation which need to be triggered, this pin can be left float.

  • additionally, mostlyt talk about Charge pumping and and engine Function, in my design to drive 6 RGB Leds via Dual LP5569, what should l apply one of the both? to apply LP5569 in my design , l took this as a reference design for Dual Usage, but RED and Green line What should be connected on MXCU?

  •   Revised Version my design is that one.

As l understood from datasheet ,Charge pumping is used to provide Voltage For Green and Blue Color associated with their Forward Voltage Level. But ı do know nothing about EN/PWM and CLK How/Where to connect on MCU?

But from Data Sheet page 20 ,Clock Generator mechanism is stated in Figure 19, is that available for Dual LP5569 application.

    Can you explain this case?

  • Hi Mustafa,

This internal or an external CLK pin is used for synchronization of program execution engines. If you need to use multiple LP5569 and their programmable engine, you can set one LP5569 as master clock and others as slave to synchronize their clock. Or the master clock could be generated by your MCU.
