TLC5954: Negative effects of using the 12-bit or 10-bit GS mode vs 8-bit

Hello,

Are there any negative effects or consequences when operating the device in 12-bit GS mode vs 8-bit GS mode? What are the benefits of using a lower bit mode?

Hi Nick,

TLC5974 is on/off device and do not have GS bit control. Do you mean any other device?

Hi Nick,

Generally, higher GS bits would have higher display resolution, but it require faster GCLK, which increase the complexity of PCB layout and capability requirement of control platform.
