TPS61088: How to configure the PMP9806 hardware to 12V / 1.5A?

Hello everyone!

I am using the TPS61088 in an application, which converts the 18650 lithium battery voltage (2.8V to 4.1V), to a higher voltage 12V / 1.5A. To protect the output of the converter I am relying on the PMP9806, which as I understand it, limits the output current protecting the circuit. How do I modify the operational amplifier circuit values (RADJ "R18", R17, R16, R15 and C20), to act as a 12V / 1.575A protection?.

Another question I have, and what are the labels V1, V2 and V3 in the schematic ?.

Circuit shown in the PMP9806 limits the voltage too?.

Dear Sir,

To achieve 12V / 1.575A protection, just set R162=7.87k as shown in the schematic. R16 open. R17 keep unchanged.

V1/V2/V3 means 5Vo/9Vo/12Vo.

If they just have 12V output, they just need to change R1 and R2. R2=110k, R1=1M ohm. R3/R4/R5 can be removed.

If i set an output voltage to 12V / 1.5A. The RADJ remains at 169k ?.

Is it necessary to assemble R9 and C12?

Our application was as shown in the image below. Is there anything wrong or something that can be better?

Yes, the RADJ can keep 169k.

But if u want to pull Vout to a lower value, then you can use a small value.

Could I pull Vout to 0V, decreasing RADJ?

Dear Sir,

You can pull down Vo to Vin by lower the RADJ. But 0V can not achievable.

helen,

I want to ensure that if the user short-circuits the voltage output, my circuit will not burn out.

On PMP9806 what happens if there is a short circuit in VOUT?

It will not burn if Q3 can turn off immediately.
