Customer is using IMONBUF pin to drive an ADC input which has an operating range of 0 to 2.5V and an ABS MAX of 3.6V. TPS24772 will current limit when IMON voltage is 675mV TYP and 690mV MAX. With the gain of 3.01MAX for IMONBUF output, this equates to 2.077V on IMONBUF at current limit. What will be the maximum voltage on IMONBUF pin during a short circuit condition? The fast trip threshold is set at 2x the current limit threshold. Is IMONBUF clamped at some voltage or will it spike proportionally to the short circuit current?
Customer is concerned that the voltage on IMONBUF pin will exceed ADC input ABS MAX under short circuit conditions.
