LMR33630: LMR33630

Part Number: LMR33630
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM76003, LMR36520, LMR36520AEVM

Hello

Please help me with AC to DC converter.

1. My main power is 24VAC, my digital power request 3.3VDC. Can i connect LMR33630 to 24VAC and get 3.3VDC in output? (my current output 1 A)

a. If yes, What should I pay attention in order to work AC to DC with LMR33630?

b. I need to purchase special components because I work with an exchange voltage at the entrance?

c. maybe solution with LMR33630 no good for 24AC to 3.3VDC and you can suggest to me other solution.

d. maybe i need עם down from 24AC to 5 VDC with LMR33630 and in order to get 3.3VDC i will implement LDO in order to reduce ripple/interference from AC?

Please advise, unfortunately i don't have experience with AC to DC

Best regards

Ilya

  • HI

for 24Vac to DC, you need first change 24Vac to dc voltage by diode bridge with a electrical capacitor. then you can use a dcdc converter change to 3.3V or 5V.

for 24Vac, the max dc voltage will be around 34V(24V*1.414), so I suggest you use 60V dcdc converter consider the input variance like +-20%. if you need 2A ,you can choose

LMR36520, if you need higher current 60V dcdc, you can choose LM76003.

    Thanks

  • Hello

Thank you for suggestion, LMR36520 is much better for me.

I ordered the LMR36520AEVM and i found that you suggest implement in inputs:

    1. C12 and C13 =4.7uF

    2. L2 =4.7uF

    3. C1=22uF

I would like learn from professional guys like you, what for you need each one? in special what for is L2?

  • Hi

Thank you for choosing TI part

L2 combine with C12 and C13 as input L C filter for better EMI performance and make the input current contumely because the buck converter input is discontinue.

C1 is also help to maintain the input stable, For yo case, you should have a larger cap between J1 and J2, so you can open C1 placement.

    Thanks
