TPS54620: En input pull-up to 12V

Hi,

We have a circuit design using TPS54620, the enable input of which is pulled up to 12V by a 10 resistor, as shown in the attached pic. However, we understand recommended En voltage in the datasheet "-0.3V-+6V". Can anyone help us figuring out what may happen to the component?

    Hi Shengchang,

    Firstly, please don't exceed recommended max voltage on any pin.

    And for your question, the internal circuit of EN pin will be damaged due to over stress. If you asked "the component" is the R603, the resistor,  it will be over stressed too. For long time, it may be damaged too.

    In a word, don't exceed recommended max voltage.
