UCC28019A: Insert the Relay

Hi,

My customer has the following question.

It is PFC Controller P/N: UCC28019ADR. If we add one relay as below picture to control PFC , Is it has any consequence? or it is ok?  Please advise us.

    Hello M.HATTORI,

    You will not be able to do this.
    If you wish to turn on/off the VCC bias supply to the UCC28019A you should place a semiconductor switch between the node
    labelled "VDD12VB" and the + side of the C125 capacitor.
    A small signal MOSFET or a bipolar transistor is suitable for this but a relay is not.
