TPS7A39: TPS7A39

Part Number: TPS7A39

Hello,

For TPS7A39 positive and negative dual LDOs,can I use only positive output channel?

If it can be used, what should be noticed in the circuit design?

  • Hi,

As long as the negative input voltage is also present you can use just the positive output. As stated in the Sequencing section (shown below) there is an internal enable signal which requires both positive and negative UVLO conditions to be met as well as the enable condition for the device to startup.

If you do choose to use it as such I'd recommend sticking with the minimum recommended capacitors for the negative rails in order to limit the possibility of an oscillating negative output creating noise on the positive rail.

Out of curiosity what has you interested in using TPS7A39 instead of one of our single channel LDOs? Maybe we can suggest something else that can meet your requirements.

  • Thanks for your answer.

In order to unify the selection of project chips, we have considered using TPS7A39 chip in that case.
