Hi Nico,
The recommended Wurth transformer (and also the Linkcom transformer used on the EVM) was designed specifically for use with the TPS23755 in a primary side regulated (PSR) topology in order to take advantage of the benefits of this IC/topology combination. This includes removing the opto + feedback circuitry from the feedback network in order to reduce the solution size and BOM.
If you prefer to take the secondary side regulated approach and to use an off the shelf transformer (although this will require the opto + feedback network in your design), then I recommend using the TPS23753A. PMP8803 utilizes the TPS23753A in a 12V/Class 3 design and may be of interest to you.
