I think both schematic are similar. The things that i see a difference is the inductor selection between 15uH and 22uH and i believe that could relate to the input range difference between 2 design. 

Therefore you can select either design based on your specification.

Electrolytic capacitor with sometimes, large finite ESR will result in additional output ripple.

In addition, ESR will need to be consider and extra considerations may be requiring in doing loop analysis.
