TPS25982: Use dual devices to prevent single point failure?

I'm looking to use the TPS25982 to control 24V @ 1.25A, but cannot have a single point of failure, such as a short from IN to OUT.

Would it still work properly if I placed one TPS25982 on the high side and another on the return side, or am I better off place two of them in series?
