BQ27510-G3: SOH calculation

Part Number: BQ27510-G3

According to App note, SOH is percentage of the ratio of predicted FCC(25 degC, SOH LoadI) over the DesignCapacity().

I think FCC(25 degC, SOH LoadI) is calculated by internal CPU. Can I check FCC(25 degC, SOH LoadI) value by register read? Is it not opened value?

And how should we decide "SOH LoadI" setting value? Is this value critical for SOH percentage?

Best Regards,
Kohei Sasaki

  • Hi Kohei,

The SOH FCC doesn't seem to be open to customers in the bq27510-g3.  In some other devices, it is possible to read this value via i2c or smbus.

I would suggest you set the SOH LoadI to a typical current of the application.

  • Hi Andy,

Please let me ask additional questions.

How is SOH % value calculated? Is it FCC(25 degC, SOH LoadI) / Design capacity?

Does Qmax value relate to SOH calculation?

Please let me know the formula.

And, when is the SOH % value updated? I would like to know the update timing.

    Best Regards,
    Kohei Sasaki

  • See my comments below.

As we mentioned in the TRM, StateofHealth() is a predicted percentage of FCC(25°C, SOH LoadI) over the DesignCapacity().

Yes, QMax is used for SoH simulation.

Regarding your last question,  I don't see a good answer in the TRM. I would need some time to find the answer.
