Hi,

I would like to seek for your advice, why the VCC and FREQ pin are missing from the Spice model? Apart from that, what are the VIN and FREQ function in the marco field? Could anyone help me on that?

    The frequency input is set by double clicking on the UCC28180 transient model.
    This is the only access you have to the macro model.

    The model itself is locked.

    VCC is not part of the simulation and so there is no VCC input requirement.

    Thanks for your reply. I do have few questions would like to check with you.

    1.  In the UCC28180 TINA-TI Transient Reference Design, it does includes the BOOSTCCMDCM, so I would like to check with you it, this model itself is the Boost Diode and MOSFET (series diode and shunt MOSFET) , am I right? 
    2. I read the other forum, if i replace BOOStCCMDCM model with other SPICE model, the transient analysis might not be accurate, does it valid? 
    3. I did change the macro FREQ from 160kHz to 20kHz, but the fsw (Gate freq) doesnt seem to change.

    1. I believe you are correct. The BOOSTCCMDCM is is the boost fet and diode switch model.

    2 The PSPICE model is an average model used for time independent modelling such as Bode plots. It will not work in a transient analysis which shows variation over time.

    3. This like a sounds serious defect. Did you make any other changes to the schematic ?
    I will check if I get the same results.

    Thanks for your reply. 

    I fixed the other parameter while sweeping the FREQ input. Nothing has changed, I would expect GATE PWM freq varied when i change the FREQ setting, is that right? 

    Just out of curiosity, what does the other people do when they wanted to design PFC using UCC28180? Do they get the design using WeBench and then straight build the PFC board; optimize the performance on the board later?

    Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.
    It looks like this TINA model is actually not a transient model but an average model.
    I will try to get this fixed.

    The best method for starting a design is to read the data sheet and use the Excel calculator.
    Then I would look through the reference designs to check if any available designs meet your requirements.
    After that you can safely build and test your design.
    I cant really comment on Webench or TINA.
