LP87524J-Q1: DVS control mode of LP87524J-Q1

Part Number: LP87524J-Q1

Hi,

customer need to select a PMIC, I recommend the LP87524J ,  one quesiton is what's the DVS control mode? is it use PWM?

do you have other recommendation that DVS is control by GPIO?

the requirements below:

need 3 channel buck, one WDT and integrated DVS.

Buck 1: 0.6~1.1V/200mA

BUCK 2: 1.8V/300mA

BUCK 3: 1.8V/200mA

thanks.

  • Betty,

The experts on this device are in a European time zone so I expect they will reply in 8-16 hours.

  • Hello,

DVS works through the I2C bus by controlling the voltage registers for the bucks. Alternatively GPIO can be used as a roof/floor control to switch between two voltage levels. This needs I2C configuration before it is active.

If the watch dog timer is hard requirement then I guess that rules out LP87524J since it does not have watch dog. Only released flex power device with watch dog is LP8770 which has two bucks and one boost. So it would require discrete buck for the third channel.

If the watch dog is not hard requirement, then I would look at LP875640 as well. It is our I2C configurable PMIC with 4 channels (one can be disabled of course). You can find configuration guide for it here: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/snvu590/snvu590.pdf

    Thanks.
