BQ25898D: About the condition that registers are reset to default value

Part Number: BQ25898D

Hello

I have the following two questions.
1.For example, is VBUS rises above VVBUS_UVLOZ with VBAT = 4.2V, are all registers reset to the default value?
2.Are all registers reset to the default value even if BAT rises above VBAT_UVLOZ with VBUS = 5V?

Excerpt from Section 9.2.1
When VBUS rises above VVBUS_UVLOZ or BAT rises above VBAT_UVLOZ, the sleep comparator, battery depletion comparator and BATFET driver are active.
I2C interface is ready for communication and all the registers are reset to default value.
The host can access all the registers after POR.

best regards

  • Hi,

    1. No

    2. No.

Section 9.2.1 POR refers to there is no valid VBUS and no valid VBAT initially, then powering up VBUS or VBAT. After VBUS rises above VVBUS_UVLOZ, all the registers are reset to default value, then powering up VBAT will not reset all the registers any more. And vice versa.

    Thanks,

    Ning.

  • Hello

    If VBUS exceeds VVBUS_UVLOZ at VBAT = 4.2V, D + / D- detection when VBUS is plugged-in (AUTO_DPDM_EN) is performed.

After that, when VBUS falls below VVBUS_UVLOZ and then VBUS is plugged-in again, is D + / D- detection performed?

    best regards

  • Hi,

Yes. The input current limit detection is performed every time when a valid adapter plugs in.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
