Dear :
I want to check if lm3410 can support 3.3V to 12V/1.1 A(cree XHP35 LED) application?
I tried using TPS61169 before and failed.
If not LM3410, do you have any recommended led drive?
Thanks!
Best Regards!
Hello,
It is a boost converter so the input current will be higher than the LED current. In this case it will exceed the switch current limit of the LM3410. The minimum switch current limit is 2.1A. The duty cycle of 3.3V input and 12V output not including efficiency is 72.5%. This means boost rectifier duty cycle is 1 - 0.725 = 27.5%. The current will need to be 1.1A/0.275% not including efficiency or inductor ripple and would equal 4A, well beyond the 2.1A switch current limit.
At 3.3V input there aren't many choices for LED drivers and sorry we don't have one for this application.
Best Regards,
