LM66100: Reverse current protection question : ireverse < Ircb of LM66100

Part Number: LM66100

I have a question about the reverse current protection feature of LM66100

The datasheet shows this waveform which indicates if the reverse current crosses  I_RCB threshold, the switch would be turned off.

What would happen if Vout source has a current limit less than IRCB, say 100mA? Would that mean the LM66100 would allow a continuous reverse current even when Vout>Vin?

  • Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the E2E forum!

The reverse current blocking feature is enabled by connecting the CE pin to the VOUT pin of the device.A comparator is used to detect when the voltage at VOUT gets forced above the voltage at VIN by V_OFF. Once VOUT gets forced above VIN by VOFF, the channel will switch off and stop the reverse current. I_RCB is how much current will be going trough the device when VOUT reaches VIN + V_OFF.

    Best regards,
