BQ25504: Special Components for board

Part Number: BQ25504

Hi guys. In the BQ25504 board's BOM, there are some capacitors that have been marked by **  and have been given in notes that they cannot be substituted (point 4).

But those capacitors are either stopped manufacturing or have been replaced. Can someone help to clear that whether these following substitutes work fine?

C1, C2 4.7uF, 10V, X5R, 10% GRM21R61A475KE34D
C3 100uF, 6.3V, X5R, 20% GRM43SR60J107ME20L
C5 0.01uF, 50V, X7R, 10% GRM188R71H103KA01D
  • Hi Rishabh,

C1, C2 and C3 are not critical and can be any capacitor with the same voltage and temperature rating.

C5, however, must be a low leakage capacitor, i.e. have the highest possible insulation resistance.  Based on this capacitor's datasheet, 0.012uF in 402 package is the breakpoint for its insulation resistance.  That is a bit too close.  I suggest increasing to 603 package or moving to another 402 capacitor with higher insulation resistance.

    Regards,
    Jeff
