BQ76920: What is the purpose Rc0 & Cc0 between VCO to GND

Part Number: BQ76920

Hi,

May I know what is the purpose of Rc0 and Cc0 connected between VCO to GND in BQ76920?

Thanks,

Christina

  • Hi Christina,

The resistor Rc0 allows the part to sense the bottom of cell 1.  Depending on transients it can be taken back to the cell.  The VC0 pin is pulled to the VC1 pin when balancing, so the resistance also allows proper operation.  The capacitor Cc0 filters the input to avoid transients into the pin, it must be small enough to allow the pin to settle for measurement during balancing.

When you think of a quiet system with no balancing it does look rather odd.
