BQ24105: Changing ISET1 resistors with MCU

Part Number: BQ24105

Hi,

What would be a good way to control the charge current on the ISET1 pin?

For example, I would like to have 400mA and 1.3A charging capability. A solution would be to have 2 RISET1 resistors and choose one with an MCU. Would this work? Any issues with device stability or other issues?

Any other solutions?

Thanks

  • Hi Alvaras,

Most customers use 2 resistors in parallel with one resistor connected to ground through an NFET.  The MCU then toggles the resistor to configure each charge current, with one current being the parallel combination of the resistors.
