LMG5200: LMG5200 Current Measurement Method

Part Number: LMG5200

Hello,

I would like to use the LMG5200 module for my BLDC motor driver board but I need to measure the phase current from low side current sense resistor. So that, should I use the PGND and AGND pins of the LMG5200 module or is AGND enough for the measurement ?

Thanks!

  • Hello Alikaan,

Thanks for reaching out to us.  If you want to measure the phase current, you would want to use the PGND instead of the AGND since the AGND is the current path for the signals and the PGND will be the current path for the main device.

In the layout, the PGND and AGND should be separated so the noise from the PGND will not be coupled to the AGND to interfere the control signals.

    Regards,
