LMZ34002: LMZ34002 OUTPUT PARALLEL

Part Number: LMZ34002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZM33606

Hi team,

Customer are wondring that is it possible or is there any concern to parallelize LMZ34002 for 4A output?   is phase shift needed?

Best Regards,

Gene

  • Hi Gene,

I would not recommend using the LMZ34002 in a parallel application since it does not have the ISHARE pin. You can try to force parallel it through the common external CLK and tying the outputs together and VADJ together, but doing so may not result in an equal distribution of current and could cause one of the paralleled devices to trip current limit.

For inverted output applications 4A and above, I'd recommend using the LMZM33606 device configured for IBB. There is an app note that I wrote linked here for reference. Let me know if you have any additional questions on this.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
