TPS92515: About PWM dimming frequency

Part Number: TPS92515

Hi,

Customers are looking for LED drivers that meet the following specifications:
・Vin=24V
・Vout(Vf)≒10V
・Iout(ILED max)=2A
・PWM dimming
・Target dimming frequency≒60kHz

In that background,
I introduced TPS92515.
However, the following contents are described in the data sheet.
Does this device allow 60kHz PWM operation?
And If we allow the minimum Dutycycle problem,
Please tell me the maximum frequency that can be driven.

Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke,

100 Hz to 2 kHz is the ON/OFF PWM dimming frequency.

In your case, customer should do shunt-FET dimming to achieve high frequency PWM dimming.

Please also refer to the link here discussing different PWM dimming methods:

    Thank you!
